Kwangsi Students For Soviet Russia.

(From a Wuchow correspondent)

Recently, the Kwangsi Authorities invited 50 students to take examina- tions for entrance into the Sun Yat- sen University at Moscow. The examinations took place at Kweilin, Nanning and Wuchow. It was de- cided that on January 5, the students would sail for Canton from Wuchow.

The students were in readiness to start at the fixed date; but in the meantime, information was received from Canton that the 3rd term students for the Sun Yat-sen Univer- sity have deferred their journey and that a preparatory class WZB to be established. For this reason, a meeting was held at the Wuchow Students Association which was attended by over 40 persons who considered that the above- mentioned postponement would affect the Wuchow students. The participants expressed different opinions. Many were in favour of at once proceeding to Canton in order to enter the Class with the Canton students. Some were in favour of directly proceeding to Moscow without coming to Canton,; while others approved of preparing themselves in Wuchow for the Su Yat-sen University in the meanwhile, The chairman could not express' dir opinion as the Authorities, who were responsible for the expenses of sending the students to Moscow, have not so yet granted the money, and the matter will be held over until Civil Governor Wang Shao-

hing's arrival at Wuchow.

A Committee of seven was ap- pointed to deal with all affairs.
